16-Point Technical & Export Supply Dossier

01 Overview & Interior Engineering Role

Index

SerFibro Smooth Interior Fibre Cement Board is an autoclaved mineral composite manufactured from refined cellulose fibres, Portland cement and micronized quartz silicate. Engineered to EN 12467 Category C (NT Type, 100% asbestos-free), it replaces moisture-sensitive gypsum boards and combustible wood-based panels wherever high impact strength (Class 3, MOR ≥ 10.0 N/mm²), A1 fire safety and wet-zone dimensional stability are specified.

02 22-Variant Format & Thickness Matrix (Including 1250 × 2800 mm)

Index

SF-SMOOTH-INT is produced across 22 standardized format-thickness combinations: 1250 × 2500 mm (3.125 m²) and 1250 × 3000 mm (3.750 m²) in 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20 mm, plus the dedicated 1250 × 2800 mm (3.500 m²) floor-to-ceiling commercial partition sheet in 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 mm. Using 2800 mm sheets eliminates horizontal mid-wall joints in standard office, hotel and hospital storeys, accelerating drylining installation and reducing joint compound labour.

03 Calibrated Smooth Surface & Tolerance Level 1 Precision

Index

Classified under TX-SM-01 and TX-CL-01, the board features a smooth, homogeneous mineral plane with Level 1 tolerances: length ± 5 mm, width ± 3.75 mm, thickness ± 10% e, squareness ± 2 mm/m and edge straightness ± 0.1% a. Tight thickness calibration ensures flush board-to-board transitions behind thin-bed ceramic tile adhesives, decorative interior renders, acoustic wallcoverings or architectural interior paint systems.

04 Unprimed vs Pre-Primed Delivery Options

Index

Select Unprimed (natural cement grey) when boards will receive cementitious tile adhesives in wet rooms, mineral skim coats or industrial post-lamination where direct open-pore mechanical keying (~30% porosity) is preferred. Select Pre-Primed when partitions or ceilings are scheduled for direct interior painting or decorative finishing, equalising surface absorption and eliminating one on-site priming pass.

05 Edge Processing, Workshop Cutting & Joint Detailing

Index

Boards are supplied with clean square edges suitable for expressed interior shadow joints, flexible polyurethane sealant joints, or taped flush interior jointing using compatible alkali-resistant fibre-cement joint compounds (follow system manufacturer instructions regarding stud stiffness and movement joints). Sheets cut cleanly using carbide-tipped or diamond circular saw blades with dust extraction.

06 Intended Interior, Wet-Room & Underlayment Applications

Index

Typical thickness selection by interior application: 6 mm for suspended or fixed ceilings and lightweight wall linings; 8–10 mm for standard metal/timber stud partitions, modular prefab interiors and bathroom/kitchen ceramic tile backing; 12–14 mm for hospital corridors, schools, shaft walls and heavy stone/porcelain tile substrates; and 16–20 mm for roof underlayment decks, dry screed subfloors and mezzanine load platforms. For direct rain-exposed exterior facades, specify SF-SMOOTH-EXT (Category A) instead.

07 Stud Framing, Fixing Centres & Tile-Backing Guidelines

Index

Install on galvanized steel C-studs (typically 400 mm or 600 mm centres; 400 mm max recommended behind heavy wall tiles) using self-drilling winged or countersunk fibre-cement screws keeping minimum edge clearances per installation guide. In showers and wet zones, apply a continuous liquid waterproofing membrane and joint reinforcement tape over the board face prior to cementitious C2TE/S1 tile adhesive application.

08 Verified Physical, Thermal & A1 Fire Performance

Index

Certified to EN 12467 Category C and EN 13501-1 Class A1 non-combustible (zero flame spread, zero flaming droplets and zero toxic gas emission), SF-SMOOTH-INT achieves Class 3 bending strength (MOR ≥ 10.0 N/mm²) at an apparent dry density of 1350 ± 50 kg/m³. Key building-physics parameters include thermal conductivity λ = 0.20 W/mK, low thermal expansion αt = 0.005 mm/mK, vapour diffusion resistance μ ≤ 30, ~30% porosity and saturated moisture movement of 0.5 mm/m.

09 Geometric Board Area & Partition Coverage Planning

Index

Unit geometric areas are 3.125 m² (1250 × 2500 mm), 3.500 m² (1250 × 2800 mm) and 3.750 m² (1250 × 3000 mm). Remember that double-sided partitions require 2.0 m² of board per 1.0 m² of wall elevation (or 4.0 m² for double-layer acoustic/fire walls), plus 5%–8% allowance for doorway cutouts and perimeter trims.

10 Standardized Palletising & Payload Optimisation

Index

Every thickness-format combination has a fixed export pallet count—for example 75 pcs (234.38 m²) on 1250 × 2500 × 8 mm, 50 pcs (175.0 m²) on 1250 × 2800 × 10 mm, and 50 pcs (187.5 m²) on 1250 × 3000 × 10 mm. At 1350 ± 50 kg/m³, an 8 mm sheet weighs approx. 33.8 kg in 2500 mm length; road trucks and 20 ft containers are loaded to payload limits using full-pallet multiples.

11 Acclimatisation, Dry Storage & Site Handling

Index

Keep pallets indoors on flat, dry bearers and allow boards to acclimatise to ambient room humidity for 24–48 hours before fixing and jointing so initial hygric equilibrium is reached prior to tiling or taping. Always lift sheets vertically off the stack and carry on edge with two operators.

12 Export Logistics & Incoterms Delivery Options

Index

Frequently Asked Technical & Commercial Questions

What is the difference between SerFibro Smooth Interior (Cat. C) and Smooth Exterior (Cat. A)?

SF-SMOOTH-INT is formulated to EN 12467 Category C with higher Class 3 bending strength (MOR ≥ 10.0 N/mm²) and includes the 1250 × 2800 mm partition format for indoor walls, wet rooms and underlayments not directly exposed to outdoor rain/freeze cycles. SF-SMOOTH-EXT is formulated to EN 12467 Category A with low-thermal-expansion weather additives for direct exterior facade exposure.

Why choose the 1250 × 2800 mm format for commercial interior partitions?

Most modern offices, hotels, schools and hospitals have clear slab-to-soffit heights around 2700–2800 mm. Installing a single vertical 1250 × 2800 mm sheet spans floor-to-ceiling without horizontal butt joints, cutting offcut waste over 3000 mm boards and eliminating horizontal joint taping.

Should I order Unprimed or Pre-Primed boards behind bathroom ceramic tiles?

Unprimed boards are generally preferred for ceramic tile backing and liquid waterproofing membranes so the primer/membrane system specified by your tile-adhesive manufacturer keys directly into the clean mineral pore structure (~30% porosity). Pre-Primed is preferred for painted dry partitions and ceilings.

Is SerFibro Smooth Interior non-combustible for escape corridors and shafts?

Yes. The board itself is classified EN 13501-1 Class A1 non-combustible and emits zero toxic gases under fire. Note that complete EI30/EI60/EI90 fire-resistance ratings depend on the tested partition assembly (stud gauge, insulation density, layer count and fixings).

Which thicknesses are used for dry subfloors and roof underlayment?

Depending on joist spacing and design live loads, 16 mm, 18 mm and 20 mm boards (40, 35 and 30 pcs/pallet in 1250 × 2500 mm) are specified for dry floor decks, mezzanines and rigid roof underlayment substrates.
