SerFibro Smooth Exterior Fibre Cement Board

SerFibro Smooth Exterior Fibre Cement Board (SF-SMOOTH-EXT) is purpose-built for exterior building envelopes exposed directly to driving rain, intense solar UV, frost cycles and seasonal temperature swings. Formulated with specialized low-thermal-expansion mineral additives and cured in high-pressure autoclaves, it meets EN 12467 Category A (NT Type, asbestos-free) without warping, rotting, spalling or supporting biological pests.

Available in 1250 × 2500 mm (3.125 m²) and 1250 × 3000 mm (3.750 m²) across eight calibrated thicknesses—6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20 mm—SF-SMOOTH-EXT supports everything from lightweight 6 mm soffits and 8 mm prefab exterior walls (approx. 11.2 kg/m²) to 10–12 mm ventilated commercial rainscreens and 14–20 mm heavy architectural fins, plinths and coping boards.

Produced under texture codes TX-SM-01 and TX-SD-01 with Level 1 tolerances (length ± 5 mm, width ± 3.75 mm, thickness ± 10% e, squareness ± 2 mm/m, edge straightness ± 0.1% a), the flat mineral face creates crisp shadow-joint alignments on modern commercial, residential and modular elevations. Keep rear production arrows aligned in one direction during facade mounting.

Choose Pre-Primed (Astarlı) to receive factory-applied alkali-resistant primer ready for exterior pure-acrylic or silicone-resin facade topcoats on site, saving scaffolding time and ensuring uniform paint holdout. Choose Unprimed (Astarlanmamış) for industrial roller-coating lines or approved raw mineral detailing. Over the building lifecycle, coated SF-SMOOTH-EXT facades can be cleaned and repainted repeatedly to refresh architectural colour schemes.

On exterior facades, all site-sawn edges and drill holes should be sealed with compatible alkali-resistant primer/edge sealer prior to topcoating to block capillary rim absorption. Thick variants (12–20 mm) are also widely used by facade fabricators for CNC decorative V-grooving, window jamb trims and architectural cornice bands.

SF-SMOOTH-EXT serves three core exterior sectors: (1) ventilated rainscreen facades on residential towers, offices, schools and shopping centres (typically 8, 10 or 12 mm); (2) exterior wall sheathing and finished cladding on light-gauge steel modular and prefabricated buildings (8–10 mm); and (3) exterior balcony ceilings, canopy soffits and fascia boards (6–8 mm). Thanks to its low linear thermal expansion coefficient (αt = 0.005 mm/mK), SF-SMOOTH-EXT maintains crisp joint lines across summer-winter facade cycles when installed on vertical galvanized steel or aluminium T/L profiles with a continuous rear ventilation cavity (min. 20–40 mm), EPDM profile gaskets and open joints (typically 8–10 mm). Allow sliding-point clearance around rivets/screws per static wind-load design.

Tested to EN 12467 Category A (impermeability, warm water, soak-dry, freeze-thaw and heat-rain durability) with Class 2 bending strength (MOR ≥ 7.0 N/mm²) and EN 13501-1 Class A1 non-combustibility, SF-SMOOTH-EXT satisfies stringent high-rise and public-building fire regulations. Apparent density is 1350 ± 50 kg/m³ (8 mm ≈ 11.2 kg/m²), thermal conductivity λ = 0.20 W/mK and vapour diffusion factor μ ≤ 30.

Standard full sheets cover 3.125 m² (1250 × 2500 mm) and 3.750 m² (1250 × 3000 mm). Designing vertical substructure grids around 625 mm or 1250 mm modules minimises facade offcuts; allow 7%–12% extra material for window reveals, parapet returns and perimeter cuts.

In 1250 × 2500 mm, pallets hold 100 pcs (6 mm), 75 pcs (8 mm), 60 pcs (10 mm), 50 pcs (12 mm), 45 pcs (14 mm), 40 pcs (16 mm), 35 pcs (18 mm) and 30 pcs (20 mm). In 1250 × 3000 mm, pallets hold 80, 60, 50, 45, 40, 35, 30 and 25 pcs respectively. At ~11.2 kg/m² for 8 mm, dead-load on lightweight steel buildings remains remarkably low compared with precast concrete or stone.

Although SF-SMOOTH-EXT is engineered for full outdoor weather exposure once ventilated on the facade, stacked boards inside tight pallet wrap must ALWAYS be stored dry under cover on flat bearers before installation—standing water trapped between flat sheets prevents carbonation equilibrium and can cause white lime efflorescence.
